It’s ‘Ber’ months already, and it’s the time of the year when Filipinos start to prep up as the Christmas season is fast approaching. Being a Filipino—there are actually a lot of things to be excited about as we enter the Ber months. It is when we see Christmas decorations gradually pop up along the streets, malls, homes. There are shopping sales, discounts. This is the time when we have to practice for our performance for the Christmas party. And of course, it’s the time when we start to hear the Christmas songs from icons like Jose Mari Chan and Mariah Carey randomly being played everywhere. And if there’s one more thing that we should get excited about—it’s the annual ABS-CBN Christmas station IDs.

ABS-CBN has been releasing their Christmas station ID since 2009. They are known to touch our hearts and bring more excitement for Christmas. And to give you a major throwback, I listed down all the media giant’s Christmas station IDs, which I personally rated from good, to best.

1. Bro, Ikaw ang Star ng Pasko

Every Filipino can agree that ‘Bro, Ikaw ang Star ng Pasko’ is the biggest and the most popular among any other ABS-CBN Christmas IDs ever released. Every Filipino might even memorize the lyrics by heart. The 2009 christmas ID expresses gratitude towards Jesus Christ, also called as ‘Bro’ during that year because of the successful kapamilya teleserye ‘May Bukas Pa’. This is also a christmas ID created to spread joy and positivity after the Typhoon Ondoy, which happened September 2009. ‘Bro, Ikaw ang Star ng Pasko’ also marked the beginning of the network's annual Christmas station ID tradition.

Although this year might be one of saddest Christmas that we will be celebrating due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and also with the fact that ABS-CBN already halted its operations on the television. But ABS-CBN rumors to have their Christmas Station ID this year. Let’s hope it’s true, because Christmas without the ABS-CBN annual station ID just feels, incomplete.
